What is Road to One Million?
Thank you for your interest! Please allow me to share with you what we have been doing here at Open Door Mission True Light Church.
For over 40 years, we have been dedicated to holistic ministry. In addition to teaching and preaching a message of “life transformation,” we provide an array of services to citizens in Philadelphia, Delaware Valley, and beyond. Some of these community-based services include:
* After School Tutoring
* Free Summer Camp
* Parenting Education
* Prison / Reintegration Ministry
* and an array of other services!
However, we have exceeded our ability to continue or expand services at our present location. In order to build capacity and launch other ministry initiatives, such as Adult Basic Education and Youth Programs, we must build!
In 2008 we purchased 9 acres of land at 58th and Lindbergh Boulevard in southwest Philadelphia. On this parcel of land, we will build Destiny City which will include a state-of-the-art Worship Center and Doors to Destiny Family Life Center Community Development Corporation. All the plans have been laid and we have the support of the community, businesses and local officials.
How Can You help?
We are reaching out to our family, friends, business associates, and ministry supporters to request that you partner with us as we embark upon our building campaign, the “Road to One Million.” After much prayer, our capital campaign team has developed the following strategic plan to achieve our goal of one million dollars. The plan is to secure 400 commitments of $2,500 each. Your participation will allow you to plant a seed for change in order to enlarge and better accommodate the people more effectively who will directly benefit from the services we provide.
If you are unable to commit to $2,500, please consider making a cash donation of any amount and remember every donation makes a difference and is appreciated. Your seed and generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to expand and continue our work.
